Congo

After tanning with chromium salts, Congo leather is dyed in the barrel with aniline dyes. The skins are then slightly corrected and additional color pigments are added. The pigments ensure a beautiful play of colors, giving the leather a vintage look. The semi-aniline finish guarantees a wonderfully soft grip and makes the leather particularly suitable for various interior applications.

You can recognize original Congo leather by the following typical and unique features:

vintage appearance, typical features of leather remain visible and palpable: insect bites, scars and other minor imperfections.
warm, vibrant colors
soft grip

To preserve the qualities of the leather and to protect it, we advise you to observe the following basic rules:

do not place your furniture in direct sunlight
make sure there is sufficient space between the radiator and the furniture
do not let your pets sit or lie on your furniture
ensure a pleasant indoor climate: humidity ideally 45-55%

dust off your furniture every week with a dry, lint-free cloth
regularly vacuum your furniture with the furniture attachment
to clean the leather down to the grain and to feed the leather

Congo is a two-tone leather, the color lotion is made in a 'middle' color. By using a color lotion the leather colors a bit more evenly, the two-tone effect becomes less.

The transparant finish on pigmented leather protects it against most accidents. Use the LCK® cleaning glove weekly in order to keep the leather dust free. Apply the Keralux® set P twice a year. Keralux® Strong Protector P is an extra protection against soiling and colour transfer. If you use Keralux® Strong Protector P, please apply it the first time upon delivery of your new furniture and regularly twice a year always one day after you applied Keralux® lotion P.
